Irvine Seagate Rotary had a club business night on Monday. It was reported that the club had been represented at the Incorporated Trades Golf AM/AM by a team of four pupils from Greenwood Academy. Although they did not win the overall competition, one of the boys won the prize foir the logest drive at one of the holes.
It was noted that arrangements have commenced for a visit to the twin club of Orleans in France next May. These visits take place every two years, alternating between Scotland and France. The club will be doing a bag pack and collection at Tesco in Irvine on Saturday 5 December, for community service funds, and the profits from the clairvoyant night with Sally Buxton at Marress on 6 November will be going towards equipment for the Red Cross House in Irvine.
The club will have a Christmas social evening on 7 December, and the Burns Night will be on 8 February. There will be no meeting next week as many members will be attending the Trades Wee Pies, the start of the Irvine winter rituals
