Club Night - 31/08/15

Weekly Press Report

Irvine Seagate Rotary had a club business night on Monday at the Menzies Hotel.  It was reported that Africa is still free from Polio after more than a year, and there have been just 36 cases this year in Pakistan and Afghanistan, down from `123 last year.  When Rotary launched its anti Polio campaign in 1985, Polio killed or crippled over 350,000 children a year in 125 countries.

Seagate is organising a psychic night at Marress on Friday 6 November, with clairvoyant Sally Buxton.  Tickets will be £5, and there will be a full house.  The Seagate Sportsmen’s Dinner will be in February.  To try to keep members fit and healthy, Donald Menzies has recommenced his winter walks programme, starting with a gentle stroll from Irvine to Prestwick for lunch on Saturday.  As a fall back position it will be possible, for those who wish, to return to Irvine by train rather than walk off the lunch on the way back.
