Rebuilding in Ashrang after the earthquake


Ashrang is a village to the east of Gorkha, the epicentre of the Nepal earthquake on April 25th 2015

70% of the 200 houses were lost.

Portland Rotary, Casterbridge Rotary via the Okhle Village Trust and CEN UK (Child Education Nepal) have contributed to the rebuild of this village by CEN UK

Buildings constructed of corrugated steel, timber and stone costiing about £250 are temporary shelters to get through the monsoon. All the materials will be recycled in the building of permanent houses.
