Four members of Seagate took part in the Hunterston rotary charity golf competition last week. They did not win but were not last, and were more successful in the raffle than the golf, collecting a nucleus of good bottles for the next club bottle stall.
Monday was a club business night. It was confirmed that Jim Leishman will be the main speaker at the Sportsmen’s Dinner on 26 February. Club members will be assisting with the Dragon Boat racing at the Harbour Festival on 15 August. For exercise and fellowship, club members will be walking the Ayrshire Coastal Path this summer, in sections of varying commitment, from Glenapp to Skelmorlie and possibly the new extension to Milngavie. The logic of walking from south to north is generally not to be facing into the sun, but, given the past month’s weather, pessimists suggest that it may also be better to have the rain and wind pushing them along from the south-west.
