Quiz Night - 01/06/15

On Monday the Annick Primary School quiz team, representing Irvine, took part in the West of Scotland finals of the Rotary Primary Schools Quiz in Glasgow.  Against the top 22 teams from across the region, they gave a very creditable performance but sadly did not make it into the top three.  They were accompanied by Seagate Rotarians Adam Moonie and Eric Greig.

By coincidence, Monday evening was a quiz night for Seagate Rotary, after a brief business meeting.  It was presided over by President Fiona Lee, who allocated marks in marks in an occasionally arbitrary but not ungenerous fashion.  Teams of two toiled with questions varied and sometimes obscure which led to some disputed answers resolved by Mr Google.  The eventual winners were Donald Menzies and Hugh Hutchison who, in the amateur spirit of the evening, gained the kudos but no tangible prize.  Next week it will be back to business as usual with a speaker from St Andrews Ambulance.
