Charity Cycle Ride for Prostate Cancer UK. On Sunday morning, 21st June, 9 members from the combined March and Chatteris Rotary Clubs took part in a sponsored cycle ride from St. Wendredas Church in March, to The Cross Keys Hotel, Chatteris. This was part of a nationwide event being held that day, by Rotary Clubs across the U.K. A leisurely route, on quiet roads was planned, taking in Wimblington, Doddington, and across the Fens to the destination for lunch, about 10 miles away. Several vehicles followed their progress, with tools, inner tubes, water and Vaseline. The most difficult part was crossing the very busy A141 junction at Mill Hill Garage in March. No problems were encountered en route, bar anno-domini amongst most of the peloton. It is anticipated that a little over £1000.00 will have been raised by fine fun effort. Those taking part were Godfrey Smith, Alex, Harriet and Bastian Nooteboon, John Orbell, Sheila Lattimore, Alan Crossley, Donald Ashmore and Bruce Kent.
