The President of Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club chose an excellent day to stage his Annual Charity Golf Competition at Farrington Park Golf Club. President Leslie Fox chose to support the work of the NSPCC locally by donating all the proceeds of the day to this worthy cause. A bright but breezy day greeted just short of ninety golfers as they assembled to play in a four ball bowmaker competition fortified by plenty of coffee and a bacon sandwich.
In addition to the golf a donated table of prizes were on offer through a raffle plus a two spot competition for any one skilful enough to score a two on a par three hole. As well as our Rotarian Golfers, the event was supported by players from Farrington Park, Mendip Spring, Clevedon and Stockwood golf Clubs to name but a few. On conclusion a meal was supplied by Farrington Park to their normal high standards. The incoming District Governor of Rotary District 1200, Bob Acland presented prizes to the first three teams plus the leading ladies team.
All in all a very successful day raising close on £700 for the NSPCC.
A big thank you goes to all those who competed, also to those who donated prizes, notably Farrington Park Pro Shop and Mendip Springs Golf Club, and to our hosts for the day, Farrington Park Golf Club.
