After our meal tonight we heard from recent new member Brett Turton about his career experiences in the legal world.

"Brett Turton gave a fascinating insight into his international roving childhood and early adult life from South Africa to New Zealand, Australia and Britain, having a father working for major international farm machinery companies. He was a keen sportsman with a love for cricket and rugby before an accident brought an abrupt end to his aspirations as a player.

He qualified as a lawyer in Australia and worked New Zealand and South Africa before coming to Britain. He then went to Western Australia before returning to Britain. Brett joined PPD (a US based contract research organisation) which conducts drug research and development on behalf of major pharmaceutical companies.

He described the process to get new drugs onto the market. His preference is for litigation work rather than company law and is currently in the process of changing his employer.

Brett helped to put Cambridge South on the new membership 'map' when he was featured recently in the 'Meet and Greet series' in the Rotary GB&I Rotary magazine."

Club Council will meet after the main Meeting.
