Know Your Blood Pressure Day

Llandudno Rotary helps over 45 people check their blood pressure

Blood Pressure Day and Stroke Awareness

On 2017's Blood Pressure Awareness Day recently - a venture promoted jointly by Rotary and the Stroke Association - more than 45 Llandudno locals and visitors took advantage of the opportunity to have their blood pressure checked.

Local doctors Ashok and Sheila Harshey conducted the checks, with Rotarians Rosalind Hopewell and John New assisting by "rounding up" the custom!  The day proved extremely useful for two members of the public who were advised to contact their GPs as a precaution.

Many participants responded to the Day as a result of articles they had seen in local newspapers and on social media offering the service.

It's always the right time to check your blood pressure - and many surgeries have a machine where you can check it yourself, if you prefer.

Llandudno Rotary organises the "Know Your Blood Pressure" Day every year, in conjunction with local doctors.

Members of the public can have a free test of their blood pressure.  This can show they are perfectly healthy, or can highlight a possible issue that warrants further investigation...in which case the person is advised to visit his or her doctor.

Over the years several hundred people have benefitted from this worthwhile Rotary activity.
