At Irvine Seagate Rotary on Monday, Barbara Hastings, CEO of The Ayrshire Community Trust, outlined the role of that organisation in promoting liaison and cooperation in the community and voluntary sector.
TACT is a recent amalgamation of The Volunteer Centre and the Council for Voluntary Services. FThere are over 800 community and voluntary groups in North Ayrshire, and knowing what they are doing and where they may overlap or work together is increasingly important as various local authority budgets are squeezed in the current economic climate.
TACT also supports new entrepreneurs with legal, financial and business advice, and promotes unemployed adult and youth volunteering and training to improve employability prospects.ilThere was discussion on the various organisations involved in seemingly similar activities, and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Ian Dickson
