Masizame Children's Shelter 2015 - II

The Shelter expresses its gratitude for the generous donation to fund new school uniforms for this year.

A Sense of Dignity and Pride!

We recently heard that the usual sponsors of the uniforms for the children at this shelter had been forced to withdraw due to lack fo funds.  We made a donation to fund the purchase for this year's children.  So worthwhile.  As they say, it allows the children to go to school with a sense of dignity!

This is the text of the letter we received from the Shelter.

"Masizame would like to express our gratitude for the generous donation of R16800.00 to be used for the purchasing of school uniforms.

The children were so happy to recieve the new uniforms. This donation allows the children to go to school with a sense of dignity as well as enable Masizame to free up funds to expand the breadth of our services, such as enlisting the services of an educational psychologist.

The funds have been used/allocated as follows:

  • Purchasing of Uniforms for 16 children of the Child & Youth Care Centre
  • Purchasing of school uniforms for 14 children as part of the Drop-In's back to school reintegration programme.
  • R4800.00 held for the purchase of uniforms for new arrivals at the Masizame Child & Youth Care Centre (capacity 30, currently 22).

Thank you for your contribution in protecting the vulnerable children of Plettenberg Bay."

The shelter sent us a group photo of the children from the Child & Youth Care Centre in their new uniforms, and photos of three of the children who "wanted to model their new uniforms!"
