Smiles Bitter - 02/02/15

Seagate Rotary had a visit from Assistant District Governor Iain Christie on Monday, with an update on Rotary's Polio eradication campaign.  Last year there were just six cases confirmed in Nigeria, but the rest of Africa was polio free, down from many thousands a few years ago.  Of the 360 cases reported worldwide, most were in Pakistan.  

Seagate had some home grown entertainment this week as Eric Greig presented a sequence from his collection of amusing and weird photos, Escher drawings and video clips.  Some of the content would possibly be classed as unsuitable for showing before the watershed, but highly humorous anyway if not always politically correct.  A vote of thanks was proposed by Hugh Hutchison.  Next Monday is the club's Burns night, with more home grown talent.
