Our speaker this evening was Jo from the Trussell Trust - Food Bank Support. We are also delighted have the Induction of James Watts as a new club member.

We start our meeting with the Induction of James Watts as a new club member. We are delighted to welcome James as a new member - he transfers from the Burnham Beeches Club.

Our experienced speaker is Joanna Stevenson - Regional Development Officer - East of England, for the national charity who support and co-ordinate Food Banks - The Trussell Trust. Come and hear about the essential work they do across the country, staffed by volunteers. (4,712 people fed 2013-14, 41,099Kg of food !).  Many more people thatn you might think are now coming to Food Banks for crisis help. The Banks aim to tide people over while they link them to on-going help and support from other organisations.

Current Needs in Cambridge are tinned vegetables, vegetable oil, bags of sugar, jam, pasta sauce, custard powder, salt/pepper, dried milk, instant coffee.

NOTE: at the mo they are well-stocked with things like pasta, soup, beans and longlife milk.
