Winner of the Irvine Seagate Rotary Marymass balloon race was Steven Attridge, whose balloon was found in Innerleithen in the Borders. The photo shows Steven receiving his prize from club president Fiona Lee.
Speakers at Seagate Rotary on Monday were Alaine and Janine from Well Happy, a company they set up last year to provide classes and workshops to promote health and wellbeing through laughter, emotional freedom and related activities.
The importance of mental attitude on the physical functioning of the body is well documented. Laughter releases endorphins, reduces stress, helps the immune system and is contagious. A happy workforce is more productive and healthier, and many companies, local authorities and schools use their seminars for team building and creating a positive environment.
This was a highly entertaining talk and demonstration that was well received by the audience. A Vote of thanks was proposed by Scott Gallacher.
In the monthly charity raffle a bottle of brandy was won by Franco Calistri. As he was not present, he was deemed to have donated it for the club
