Kids Out

Our annual fun day out with groups of special children and their helpers

The first Rotary KidsOut Day Out took place in 1990 and since then we have taken up to 25,000 disadvantaged children on a fun day out every year.

The Day Out is delivered nationally in conjunction with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (Rotary GB&I) and provides the children with an experience that brings both fun and happiness into their lives. The Day Out could be as simple as visiting the seaside, zoo or theme park but for the children who attend this is often a once in a lifetime experience.

Clubs throughout the Thames Valley District visit a number of attractions, many joining together to share in the fun. Favourite venues include Paulton's Park, Thorpe Park and Cotswold Wild Life Park, chosen to avoid long journeys so vulnerable children with special transport needs can have maximum time at the attraction. Some clubs with particularly vulnerable children have recently trialed Kids In, bringing entertainers to a central venue.
