Mon, Oct 6th 2014 at 5:45 pm - 7:45 pm

the RC Guidford Eye Project - John Miles. Speaker Host-Colin B, General Host-David E, Cashier-Tim L.

John talked to us about his involvement in the work of The Eye Project and his frequent visits to see the clinics at work, and the establishment of new ones.  The volunteers ensure that very little donated money is lost in administartion and the very best use is made of the majority.  Good use is made of Rotary Global Grants to match fund what the team are able to raise.

A Feb15 email :

Would you be kind enough to pass on our thanks to all of  your members for their support,. We are most grateful.

As matters stand at present we would hope to utilise your money, via global grant, in support of 2500 cataract operations for one of our new hospitals which will be opening for business in the next few months. Needless to say I'll keep you informed.

Once again, thank you all so much.

Best wishes.

John Miles
