Sep 2014 Speaker Ian Dunn - Galapagos Trust - open to guests 7 for 7.30pm & partners

Mon, Sep 29th 2014 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

7 for 7.30pm - A talk about the fascinating Galapagos Islands and the challenges they face - at our new venue (not the UAH). Speaker Host-Ray B

Tonight we had a very varied and interesting gathering.  We started by giving a warm welcome to our newest member - Judith.  Then we had trophy presentations for our annual club Golf tournament - won by Colin B - and our inter-club competition with the Cambridge-Rutherford Club who sportingly let us win this year!

Then our speaker for the night was Ian Dunne from the Galapagos Trust who talked to us about the unique creatures found on the Islands and the challenges they face.  We could have gone on for a lot longer as the room was fascinated by what he had to say.

Guests and Partners were particularly welcome tonight.

We were meeting at our new venue for our first regular meeting in our new home

- the Gonville Hotel, Cambridge CB1 1LY.

Entrance off East Road at the edge of Parkers Piece - plenty of parking for cars and bikes. Good disabled access around the rear of the building with flat internal ground floor and a lift to upper floors. We meet in the bar for a chat then in a room off Reception for our meal and talk.
