Amaze Penge - 2014

A new local group for amazing parents and carers

Nick Randall , Chair of Rotary Beckenham Charity Committee and

David Hynes , President Elect, present a cheque for £900.00 to Amaze Penge.

This was part of our Annual Charity Distribution.

Amaze Penge is a new group set up "for the amazing parents and carers of children with additional needs". The self help group was set up in 2013 by Carole and Cherry who identified a need for support to parents in the Anerley, Penge and Beckenham Area.

The group provides support, information and enables parents and carers to "have their say" and to share their experiences and expertise in bringing up children with very special needs, including Autism, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, ADHT and other special needs.

Carole and Cherry will attend lunch at the Club on 14th August to tell us about their journey and the value to parents and carers of this 'Amazing Group of Parents and Carers'

A cheque for £300 was handed to Cherry Bundell and Carole Holland of Amaze Penge by President David Hynes at the club on 14th August 2014.

The cheque was the proceeds from an evening concert given by the Beckenham Ladies Choir at the Penge Congregational Church, earlier in the year.

Two quotes follow from the ladies of Amaze Penge  ...

"Thanks for taking the risk of supporting us; your donation enabled good things to happen to good people".

"For many charities there are almost insurmountable hurdles to jump to get help"

"Rotary Beckenham took the risk and made the difference".
