CONCERT TO SUPPORT YOUNG FENLAND MUSICIANS

On Monday the 10th February the Rotary Club of March was given a talk by Claire Richardson Chair of the Fenland Music Centre Association who was introduced to the Club By Rotarian Ross Davies.

The Fenland Music Centre Association is the parents association that supports activities at the music centre in March run on Saturday mornings. FMCA works closely with Cambridgeshire Music to ensure opportunities are available for as many young musicians as possible.

Claire described how the Association, with the help from parents, operates in helping young musicians. That help has been curtailed by cutbacks in funding which has seen a reduction in young musicians involved in the activities reduce from around 200 to 40/50. However a recent change in the Association
