ROTARY DELANCEY PARK WOODLAND WALK NEARS COMPLETION
Members of The Rotary Club of Guernsey and the Guernsey Men of The Trees (GMOTT) came together on Saturday 25th January to carry out the planting of 50 trees donated to the project by GMOTT.
In total about 14 volunteers turned out to carry out the planting in what turned out to be a sunny and very pleasant morning (made especially so with cake provided by Jocelyn).
The tree planting is the last major element of the project to complete with only bulb planting left to take place later in the year when conditions are right, but to all intents the site is now ready for use.
Trees planted ranged from Holly to Silver Birch and were spread over the whole area, ensuring that when fully developed the site will provide a shady walk linking the existing garden to all areas of the park.
I am pleased to report that all Rotarians survived the exercise intact.
