Tonight we invite our chosen Charities to share a meal and pick up their cheques from us., together with any volunteers that can come and join us.
This year our major charities were chosen to be Camsight, Multiple Schlerosis Society, the Sick Childrens Trust and Village Water with Campod, Winter Comfort and the Vet School. We were very interested to know how our donations will be used and delighted to meet the hardworking staff involved with them face to face.
Each charity described the work they do and thanked us enthusiastically for the efforts to fundraise that we have done on their behalf. David Ellis mentioned the 25 members and 70 volunteers that were involved in the December 2013 Parking Project. He also took the opportunity to thank the University Estate Management Team - represented by Tom Woolston and Steve Matthews - and Tony McPherson (Chemistry Dept Head of Security) - who make it possible for us to take over the car parks as we do.
The evening also included many of the volunteers that have generously given up their time to support the project and everyone enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and lovely meal.
back The Admin committee aims to ensure it is efficient in supporting the club, in organising the weekly meetings with speakers, improving links between committees, promoting use of website, developing the succession plan.
