Our speaker for the evening is Derek Jones - Chief Executive of Babraham Bioscience Technologies Limited based on the Babraham Research Campus.

He will be talking on 'Babraham Research Campus: supporting the UK biomedical industry'.

The Campus is both a leading hub of biomedical innovation in the Cambridge area and UK.  Here excellent basic bioscience researchers are co-located with growing biotechnology enterprises. This ensures that newly established and growing spin-out companies and SMEs have access to world-leading researchers and facilities, and drives excellent research into application.  Scientists conduct life sciences research to generate new knowledge of biological mechanisms underpinning lifelong health and wellbeing, particularly in the areas of cell signalling, immunology, neuroscience and epigenetics.
