Dear All,
Peter Whalley, British Legion Community Fundraiser for Shropshire, recently emailed the Club as follows:
We have an agreement with Rotary Clubs nationally that local clubs will, if possible, help out during the annual Poppy Appeals.
In Oswestry we have a need for some support in manning our presence in the Morrisons supermarket from October 26th until Armistice Day, 11th November.
Are you able to assist?
Following consultation with the Community Service Committee, I have replied to Peter that, in view of many other current commitments, the Club will not be able to provide the support he is seeking. I have, however, also told him that his request has been brought to the attention of Club members.
If you feel you are able to help individually, please contact Peter Whalley direct at pwhalley@britishlegion.org.uk or 020 3207 2223 / 07721 431947.
All best wishes,
Peter Hill
