19 June 2013 - John Stephenson says 'Life is what you make it'

John, an electrical engineer, started his career in electronics with the Ferranti company helping with the development of their first computer.

During this time John met cardiologist Donald Longmore  (Now Professor) who was interested in how the early stages of hearty disease could be detected.  At that time 50% of all deaths were caused by heart disease.  As a result H.E.A.R.T (Heart Exploration and Research in Therapy) was formed in 1975 to research the cause of heart disease by using electronic means.

H.E.A.R.T. changed its name to CORDA in 1985, the charity helped fund Longmore
