Christmas Collections and Family Events 2012
Christmas is seen to be a time of good cheer, but not for everyone, that is why we make a special effort to raise money for local families in need
of a little help over the festive period. Some of the money raised provides food hampers for those local families identified by the authorities as
needing assistance. 2012 was no different . We maintained our long-standing tradition by holding three separate events commencing with
Santas Sleigh, then the Tesco Collections and obviously the Christmas Carol Concert.
Despite the financial climate local people were extremely generous and selfless in their donations for which we were all extremely grateful.
Although collecting outdoors can be cold and wet, members always comment on the children's faces that light up when seeing Santa and as I
said before, witnessing the charitable nature of some people, can be a very humbling experience.
