Young Chef 2012-13

Our 2012-13 local heat of the Rotary in Great Britain & Ireland "Young Chef" Competition was another great success.


Masterchef of Great Britain and friend to our Rotary club, Peter Gorton kindly agreed to judge our local heat of this years' competition and was treated to a flavour fest from four talented, motivated and gifted young chefs.

Before announcing the winner, Peter told the 4 competitors who all came from Eggbuckland Community College, that the standard was as good as any competition he has judged - and that includes those with professional chefs.

Each competitor had to produce a three course meal for two on a set budget and we were treated to a range of different cusines.

The winner of our loacl heat was Natalie Brown whose menu consisted of:

  • Onion & Mango Salad
  • Pork & Pineapple Curry
  • Lime & Ginger Cheesecake

Natalie now goes on to the District final at the end of January in Helston.
