14 November 2012 - Michael Gahagan talks about "Housing for England"

Club was treated today to a very enlightening talk from Mike Gahagan from Paradigm Homes.

He spoke initially on the national picture where major issues included the substantial increase in the number of properties in single occupancy, the collapse of mortgage lending and consequent collapse in the number of new building projects, the trend for a reduction of the percentage of homes in owner occupancy and the level of properties in negative equity particularly in the North.  He advised us that there had been a dramatic increase in homelessness.

Mike then went on to talk about the local housing market where there were around 1,200 people on the Council
