Winners of the local rounds across the East Anglia area competed in an evening concert.
Four talented young people from the Cambridge area, sponsored by the Cambridge South Rotary Club, competed against other accomplished musicians from across East Anglia and Isobel and Alexander went on to become winners in this District 1080 Final of the Rotary Young Musician competition.
Isobel Leventhorpe came first in the Voice category, and Alexander Harris (Violin) was Runner-up in the Instrumental category. Both now go forward to the Region 3 Final in Buckinghamshire on Sunday 24th March 2013, and if successful there, will compete in the National final.
The other winners who will go on to the Regional Final are Olivia da Costa (Cello) and Molly Hazelwood (Voice), both from Suffolk.
Congratulations to you all!13 competitors took part, ranging in age from 11 - 18, from Branfield, Wisbech, Chatteris, Cambridge, Woodbridge, Norwich and Suffolk.
The instruments included : strings, wind, harp, brass, piano and voice.
