Born in Reigate and educated in schools in Reigate and Redhill. My early career started as an engineering apprentice toolmaker with a local company which was completed successful after four years. I returned to full time education and gained a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Spent seven years with a small company based in Egham, Surrey, developing laser and electro-optic systems gaining the position of Managing Director after five years. Moved to Plessey Naval Systems, GEC Marconi and Thorn EMI Electronic Systems before setting up my own management and engineering consultancy which I have successfully run for the past 17 years. Have managed major projects in Russia, Poland, Australia and Spain, currently working for a local engineering company in Epsom.
I have been a Magistrate for the past 29 years and enjoy some of the challenges we are presented with when in Court.
Have been a member of the Rotary Club of Redhill, Reigate and Horley Breakfast for the past 16 years and Club President 2001-02. Joined District 1250 Team as District Editor in 2005, Communications Chairman and subsequently AG and now DG for the Olympic year.
My partner Susan and I have been together for the past 13 years having met at a school reunion. We both enjoy travelling, wine appreciation and good food whenever the opportunity arises.
