ORBIS Volunteer and Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Dr Brian Little (BSc, MA, DO, FRCS, FRCOphth) has been working on our Flying Eye Hospital and providing training to nurses and doctors within our ground programmes since 1996. He has undertaken programmes in Bangladesh, Peru, Myanmar, the Philippines, Jamaica and Ethiopia. He is also one of our three ORBIS ambassadors, and works in this capacity, to promote ORBIS both in the UK and abroad. Mr Little qualified at Cambridge University and completed his specialist training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in 1993 and he is now Training Director of the Cataract Service at Moorfields. In recognition of his contribution to the development of cataract surgery, he was elected to the prestigious International Intraocular Implant Club. Mr Little features regularly as an invited speaker at international meetings and is also a Principal UK Expert on the International Working Group that develops standards for ophthalmic surgical equipment.
