Trevor Stansfield accepted the honourship for 2012-2013 President of The Rotary Club of Billericay at the handover lunch on Monday, July 2 at the Ivory Rooms.
Passing on the chain of honour to Trevor, outgoing president Malcolm Acors thanked all the officers and members for making his year in office such a memorable one and wished the incoming president every success.
In response, the new president saw his role as continuing all the excellent work done by Malcolm and his team and added that he would hope to extend the Club’s projects with regard to community and charity work into having more social events.
“ I am anxious that we are seen to be involving the community into events that concern us all, not just our members, but also the people out there who might wish to consider Rotary as a social coming –together. That way I am sure we can gain new members.
“ Such as a jazz-band concert next Spring. Yes, I am a jazz lover and a band like the Temperance Seven is still a major attraction. This would cost the Club a lot of money – around
