On March 14th our speaker was one of our members, Tim Hunt.
His talk was about St Helena, the remote island in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean. Tim went out to St Helena to advise on the building of an airport as, at the moment, the only approach is via the last remaining Royal Mail ship.
Whilst there he had investigated the history of the island, and illustrated his talk with some very interesting photos. These ranged from an ancient tortoise to Napoleon
