Young Musician

Welcome to the District Young Musician pages. If your club is new to the Young Musician competition, I hope that this and the following linked pages will give you all the information you need to run this competition successfully this year. If you are continuing with this event from previous years, the important dates and forms which you will need are available and will be updated regularly, again on the following linked pages.

Club competitions and selection processes should be completed by February 2012, at the latest. However it is strongly recommended that mid-December 2011 should be taken where clubs are new to this event, or where clubs have some flexibility with dates. This avoids periods where schools may have preliminary examination commitments in January and February.

Schools are the most common partners for clubs to use for their club Young Musician events, but not the only option. Local bands, orchestras, choirs, and music teachers are also used, and where clubs may offer cash prizes to promoting organisations, often very keen to become involved.
