Working with communities home and abroad to increase literacy


Literacy empowers people and is essential for community development. Literate populations are more likely to develop economically, live healthier lives, and be more peaceful. Nearly 800 million people worldwide over the age of 15 can neither read nor write.

Here at Home, many Rotary Clubs work with schools to help improve reading standards. High Wycombe is one. All parties, readers, teachers, and pupils alike, agree that the experience is thoroughly enjoyable and very worthwhile. Read more
