Fundraising

Our Fund Raising Programme for the new Rotary Year is in place and will be every bit as busy as in previous years. As always, we need your help, not only to deliver these events, but also for all club members to encourage family, friends and colleagues to attend. 

Aim & Objectives
The Aim of the Fundraising Committee is to lead on the generation of income through a range of activities which, while primarily focus on the fundraising dimension, may include fellowship, membership, youth and PI dimensions.  Key amongst these will be the Charity Dinner and the annual Quiz Night, the former having already been scheduled into the programme for 2025.  In addition, the Committee will seek to identify other opportunities for fundraising across a range of initiatives, potentially including online auctions, sponsored activities and the use of public events such as WestFest for, inter alia, fundraising purposes.

Specific Objectives are as follows:

• Organize and deliver the annual Charity Dinner (agreed date 28 Feb 25), seeking the support of the broader membership both during the planning phase and on the evening itself;  target - £20,000 (+/-).
• Organize and deliver annual Quiz Night.
• Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, seeking ideas from within the Committee and the broader membership, aiming to deliver one other major fundraising activity/event.
• Work with the Community and Vocational Committee in identifying fundraising activities in support of  community projects identified by that Committee.
• Working with the Admin, Fellowship & PI Committee, identify and exploit potential PI opportunities of the Committee’s fundraising activities, demonstrating and emphasizing the Club’s vibrancy, visibility and volunteering credentials.
• Plan fundraising and awareness activity for Polio Plus; target - £1000.

Our next event is the 35th Annual Charity Dinner in the Invercarse Hotel on Friday 17th February. This will repeat our successful format but we have moved the event to February which we expect will be a better time for our guests. Speakers include former BBC Scotland Political Editor Brian Taylor and sportsman Willie Allan who describes his after-dinner speaker style as “disruption of expectation”! This is a wonderful evening of good food, excellent hospitality and great entertainment for everyone. As normal we will look for support from Rotarians and the wider business community to raise funds for charities through our prize draw, silent auction and main auction
