The annual Rotary and Inner Wheel charity Carol Service held this week at St Mary's Church, Tenby, proved once again to be a great success with a large congregation attending to enjoy the uplifting service, this year held in aid of the Paul Sartori Foundation, the Pembrokeshire Hospice at Home
The Service was conducted by, and held with the very kind permission of the Reverend Andrew Davies, Rector of Tenby, the reading of the Nine Lessons was by the Rector and the Presidents of the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Tenby, Saundersoot, Pembroke and Narberth and Whitland, whilst poems were read by the President of Tenby & District Soroptimists Dilys Jenkinson and Trustee of the Paul Sartori Foundation Sara Alderman of Castlemartin
The large congregation sang the Carols with gusto, but all would admit to being outdone by the excellence of the three choirs from local schools, Tenby VC Infants School Choir, Tenby Junior School Choir and Cor Lan Y Mor, from Manorbier who combined members of the community of Manorbier and Manorbier School.
Due to sing solo at the Service was Manorbier School pupil Jonathan Nicot who was unfortunately sidelined with illness, and was remembered in the prayers of the Rector and congregation. In Jonathan's place Manorbier School pupils Kef Maytum and William Frazer stepped in and both performed marvellously, particularly given the short notice that they had had.
Also playing a valuable part in the Service were the St Mary's Church Hand Bell Ringers and St Mary's Church Music Scholar Corey Morris on Trumpet, all of whose undoubted talent shone through.
During the Service a collection was made for the Paul Sartori Foundation, the Pembrokeshire Hospice at Home and the Clubs are delighted to report that the magnificent sum of
