A Diary Date for all Model Railway Enthusiasts
On Saturday 26th November there is an opportunity to see what is probably the largest 'O' gauge model railways in Britain. The system is housed in a dedicated building on the Tedsmore estate near West Felton and has been collected by proprietor Rotarian Robert Parker.
This scale model layout represents some 10 miles of railway track (yes - 10 miles!), has 5 main line stations, and 5 minor stations, a harbour, a quarry, and a dockyard. It runs 150 locomotives (10 or so trains running at a time) with around 1,000 wagons and 500 coaches.
Because of the confined nature of the room in which the layout is held and to ensure that all enthusiasts, young and old, will be able to view the system in comfort, visits will be in half-hour slots, from 10:30 to 16:00, with numbers at each viewing limited to 15.
