Andy has for the last few years worked for the Olympics and Paralympics, including taking groups of visitors round the contruction programme. All together a fascinating and informative evening for Rotarians and their partners.


Olympic Park Update and Games time Transport. Our Speaker for the evening was Andy Adamson who became involved in the Olympic project in 2009.  He organised tours of the Olympic Park and during the visiting period more than 150K visitors viewed the site. In mid 2011 he moved to transport as the accessible shuttle manager, his brief being that he was to ensure that 100% of disabled spectators can get to the games, a legacy of this is that 65 tube stations are now fully accessible for the disabled. The facts presented to us were very impressive. The Olympic stadium was complete and handed over 1 year in advance of the Games, the  organisation has to accommodate 17,800 competitors, 22,000 members of the media, with accommodation for 17,000,  whilst arrangements have been made to transport, the current 7.7 million ticket holders, it is intended that this will be a
