Social evening of Petanque v Rotary Club of Crickhowell (September 2011)

There was an excellent turnout from both Rotary Clubs for the annual Petanque competition held at Bailey Park in Abergavenny, starting at around 6.30pm and ending play under floodlights.  It was a beautiful evening: ideal for playing Petanque.

There were two rounds of games between teams from both clubs with a refreshment break between the games. In the end, the Rotary Club of Abergavenny were pronounced the winners and therefore keep the challenge trophy until next year.

Everyone involved enjoyed the marvellous buffet that had been laid on in the clubhouse.  Our thanks to the Abregavenny Petanque Club (and, in particular, Peter and Barbara Clarke) for allowing us to us the club's facilities for this event and for ensuring that the whole event was a great success.
