Alan gave a captivating talk describing his early career and a major contract for London Underground.


Alan, one of our new members, started with Philips Electronics in Cambridge and became the Technical Director of Tyco International , the UK arm of a large multinational company based in Barhill, Cambridge. He is now providing technical consultancy to the company.

In his presentation, he described the complex task of designing, planning and installing a state of the art signalling system on the Victoria line of London Underground to minimise the inter-train interval thereby maximising train frequency.
