The District Handover Dinner was held at the Howden Park Centre, Livingston. Ian, Gwen and myself attended. Alastair Davies, retiring District Governor, gave a speech up to his usual high standard, remarkable in the fact that he had only a few hours kip after returning from Montreal that day. Its a hard life being a celeb in Rotary. Alastair's wife, Kirsteen ,picked up another token for a goat (to be sent to some far flung part of Africa), she must have a herd by now. Allan Maclaughlan, incoming District Governor, gave his thoughts on the coming year and Ian got his photo picking up the Presidential citation for the club. All in all a good evening and it was good that Gala (apart from Adam attending as Assistant DG for Borders) represented the Borders club in celebrating the acheivement of Alastair over the past year and making the link with Allan for the new one.
