Speaker - Dr Peter Gough The Khandel Light Project

Dr Peter Gough, a local GP, whilst on a trip to India saw at first hand the extreme poverty endured by the population in the desert state of Rajasthan and subsequently established the Khandel light project. Working in partnership with an NGO in India, the project aims to break the cycle of poverty in an area containing twenty five villages surrounding Khandel. Money raised by the charity provides improvements to water supply, sanitation, education and employment making a very real difference to the quality of life for local population.
