Quiz in support of Hawick Rotary's work with local schools

Rotary Quiz in support of local schools.
Evergreen Hall, Dovecote Street


Sixteen teams took part in a very successful Quiz at the Evergreen Hall. The winners were 'Past & Present', consisting of Iona Butlin, Bert Lancaster, Garry Simpson and Duncan Taylor. There was a good atmosphere throughout and scores were all 'respectable'.

Quizmaster Ron Smith took the opportunity to ask quizzers how they liked the earlier start time of 7 pm and this was widely approved. He also asked about the Bring Your Own Bottle style and this was also agreed to be good.

A forecast of the funds raised by the event might be £400, and this will help with the expenses incurred in running Rotary's Young Artist, Chef, Musiician and Photographer competitions in the High School, with the Hawick & District Primary Schools Quiz and with requests for assistancce from school departments.
