MasterChefs in the Making

Young cooks from Swindon are set to put their skills to the test in a new Rotary kitchen challenge backed by us.

We are delighted to be promoting a new cooking competition for 14 to 16 year-old students from Commonweal School, Great Western Academy and Lydiard Park Academy.

After internal school rounds, selected students will have two hours to prepare and cook one main course: 30 minutes for preparation and 90 minutes for cooking.

With the ingredients funded by us and supplied through the school, the event will encourage creativity, planning and practical food skills.

Wyn Jones the executive chef at Calcot Manor has agreed to be on the judging panel.  He will be joined by two members of Commonweal’s teaching staff and a Rotarian.

We will present ProCook vouchers to the young cooks in first, second and third places. 

The competition will take place at Commonweal School, Swindon, on Thursday 15 October, from 10.00am to 12 noon.
