Young cooks to take on the Rotary Kitchen Challenge

Young cooks from Swindon are set to put their skills to the test in a new Rotary kitchen challenge backed by us.

We are delighted to be promoting a new cooking competition for 14 to 16 year-old students from Commonweal School and, possibly, other Swindon schools.

After internal school rounds, selected students will have two hours to prepare and cook one main course: 30 minutes for preparation and 90 minutes for cooking.

With the ingredients funded by us and supplied through the school, the event will encourage creativity, planning and practical food skills.

The young cooks’  dishes will be judged by a professional chef, two members of Commonweal’s teaching staff and a Rotarian.

We will present ProCook vouchers to the young cooks in first, second and third places.

The competition will take place at Commonweal School, Swindon, on Thursday 15 October, from 10.00am to 12 noon.
