On 3rd August Jonny Cormack of Blackwell Sailing was our very welcome guest. The charity is one of the beneficiaries of our golf day last month. Jonny updated Rotarians on the recent activities at Blackwell Sailing, which offers adventurous opportunities to local people with a disability. Many of their clientele have learning difficulties and they cater for those with physical disabilities and limited or no sight. New volunteers water: find them at Cockshott Point, Bowness. President Paul Harkness is currently undergoing training for duties on the lake. A tribute was paid to the late Rtn Ken Thwaite who shared his extensive sailing skills on a weekly basis throughout the season. Jonny also works with the gold medal winning world championship GB team of visually impaired sailors and gets huge satisfaction from seeing confidence grow through sailing.
