We are delighted to report that Quilters Junior School RotaKids have won a Rotary “Excellence Award” (previously the Presidential Citation) from the Chair of the Rotary Board of Great Britain and Ireland, for their amazing community efforts.
As reported elsewhere on this website, on July 8, Immediate Past District Governor Mark Williamson went along to Quilters Primary School to listen to the children present their achievements of this last year. He was accompanied by President Nick Street, Immediate Past President Stephen King, Peter Strong and Peter Greene.
After the RotaKids had told us all what they had achieved, DG Mark took the opportunity to thank them for all that they had achieved, and talked about the work that this District was also doing in the Dementia area. He commended them for their enthusiasm and achievements, and particularly for winning the Rotary Great Britain and Ireland Excellence Award, for the fourth successive year, exceeding the requirement to achieve three of the eight challenges by completing a full seven of the eight.
President of this year’s RotaKids, Isla, then stepped forward and DG Mark congratulated her and the team, and presented her with the certificate for this prestigious Award.
