Charity Run and Aid Delivery

We were delighted to hear that Barry Howe, together with Rotarian Rob Brown, also a member of the Rotary Club of Billericay Town and from the charity TEECH, recently organised a charity run to Leeds.  Their mission was to collect a two-ton generator, generously donated to power the Revival Centre in Chernihiv, Ukraine.  While this generator was a private donation, the operation also included loading smaller generators from the Saffron Walden Rotary Club onto the lorry.  All these generators were destined for Ukraine too.

In addition, Rob and Barry collected six tons of food from Carmarthen in Wales, all destined for Ukraine. Both Rob and Barry are qualified HGV drivers, enabling them to undertake these significant logistical challenges.
TEECH also facilitated the delivery of a pickup truck to Ukraine (see below), but there remains an ongoing need for financial support to cover the costs related to this vehicle.

Upcoming Mission to Moldova

The next planned trip to Moldova will be in August, focusing on installing toilet facilities in two schools: Fintinita and Cosernita.  TEECH will transport all necessary equipment, and volunteers, supported by a few experts, will complete the installation.

This is similar to several other trips to install toilets and wash rooms which have been reported in previous years.

During their visit, they will meet Ukrainian refugees living in camps in Moldova, distribute food boxes, and do outreach visits to local families, in their run-down houses, with social workers.

The team will also provide bicycles for local children, bicycles donated by friends and family of TEECH.
Three Rotarians, Barry and Jan Howe, and Rob Brown, will be present, actively contributing to the project on site.
