Philip Hoyle
On 22nd June Past President Philip Hoyle entertained us with his reminiscences of his time at Provincial Insurance in Kendal. He moved from Blackpool in 1964 for the princely sum of £600pa and did a wide variety of jobs. Philip gained qualifications as a Chartered Secretary & Administrator and used his skills working within the company, the Scott Trusts, Brathay Trust, Abbot Hall and The Brewery Arts Centre as well as being involved with some amusing international insurance situations. Philip said that it was good to have spent his working life with such an ethical employer.
