Robert and Aileen attended the Primary Schools Quiz Final at Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen on Saturday June 20th, supporting the West Fife qualifiers Crossford Primary School. Brian Mitchell attended in his role as ADG.
The competition was hard fought, some tough questions but the contestants proving their wide breadth of knowledge across the range of subjects. Their knowledge outdid a fair few of the audience in one or two subject areas.
The first three were split by just 4 points, winners were Castlehill PS, Cupar, 2nd were Ben Wyvis PS from Dingwall and in 3rd place Millbank PS from Nairn. Crossford didn't figure amongst the front runners but performed with credit and were well represented in the audience considering the long trip.
Credit to Beach Ballroom who had held a screening of the Scottland v Morocco World Cup the previous evening but staff had worked through the morning to turn the ballroom into a quiz venue. That said there were plenty of Saltires on display!
Thanks to members for supporting our own successful heat and we were pleased to be represented in the Final. We hope that we can get most if not all of our 14 schools involved in 2026/27.
