Competition to find the District's Young Golfer 2024


The popular District 1320 Young Golfer Competition will be held for young golfers 16 years and under as at 1st January, 2024

Local Tournament


•    As in previous years qualifying round will be organised by Golf Clubs where Rotary Clubs are in the respective locality for young golfers, both boys and girls, in accordance with Scottish Golf’s Junior Golf Policy Regulations.

•    The organising Rotary Club would be involved in the following aspects of the local tournament:-

  • Liaising with a local Golf Club to host the event.
  • The local golf club would promote the event in conjunction with the local Rotary Club.
  • The local Rotary Club will provide prizes for the leading scorers in the scratch and handicap sections as well as inviting the two winners to attend District Golfer Competition on the 8th August, 2024.
  • The local Golf Club would arrange the presentation of prizes, appropriate publicity and photographs for the local press and websites.
  • The host Rotary Club would advise the District Tournament Organiser of the winner of the scratch and handicap events and provide details of who would represent the Club in the District 1320 Final.


District Final Hosts

The 2024 District Final will be kindly hosted by Rotary Club Linlithgow Grange at Kingsfield Golf Course, Linlithgow. EH49 7LS

Tournament Date and Format

The District Final will be held on Thursday 8th August, 2024. First Tee off 11am and 7 minute intervals thereafter. The format will be 18 hole stroke play.

Closing date for Entries

Clubs wishing to enter for the District Finals require to register no later than Monday 29th July, 2024 by completing the attached form and returning the completed form to the Tournament Organiser.  This year the maximum number of entrants will be capped at 24 and it is recommended that applications are submitted as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Entry Fee

To assist with this project, there will be a Club entry fee of £30.00 per entrant , cheque payable to Rotary District 1320. This should be forwarded to the Organiser, along with the tournament entry form duly signed by the parent or guardian. This covers a bacon roll and drink on arrival, 30 minute warm up on Trackman Range, 18 holes of golf, lunch of soup, filled roll and a drink.

Prizes

Excellent prizes will be presented to the various winners and leading scorers, along with a merit award to all Rotary Club qualifiers.
